A Scripture and a Prayer: “Worship Proceeds Battle”
“Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s … Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.” (2 Chronicles 20:15, 21)
Prayer:
Lord, from the story of King Jehoshaphat, we realize that the battles we fight are not physical, but spiritual, because the battle was first waged when Jehoshaphat called for the nation to fast and pray concerning the upcoming battle. And it was here that the battle was won because the Lord’s pronouncement that the battle was His, and thus their victory was secured. And so, they went forth praising God and the Lord defeated the enemy before they even arrived. Therefore, teach us to worship You in Spirit and in Truth, because the enemy are not those who oppose or hurt us, the enemy are the spiritual forces of wickedness that are behind the attacks. AMEN
