Thought For Today: “Turn the Light On”

Is our light switch off?

We live in a nation that is growing spiritually darker by the minute. Wickedness is increasing. Perversions are multiplying. Morals are disappearing. And the nation is opposing the Bible along with Christians who hold to its truth.

It’s hard to imagine how things could possibly get much worse. But it shouldn’t surprise us when they do; instead, it should indict us as Christians.

Jesus said we are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14-16). But when the light of Christ within has been dimmed by sin and the cares of this world; that’s when the darkness increases.

When the light shines, darkness flees. Therefore, the ever-increasing darkness we are experiencing is because our light is not shining brightly enough.

“For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’” (Acts 13:47)
