Thought For Today: “The Manna Ceased”
“The manna stopped the day after they ate this food from the land; there was no longer any manna for the Israelites, but that year they ate the produce of Canaan.” (Joshua 5:12)
When Israel entered the Promised Land, God no longer supernaturally provide manna to eat. God would see to their needs, but they would now be responsible to cooperate with God, which meant not only their physical labor, but their obedience as well.
God supernaturally supplies our needs, but He acts in cooperation with us. God not only wants us to put our hand to the plow, but by faith follow His word in obedience.
“My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
