Thought for Today: “Rise Above Your Fears”
Life is hard, especially when fear invades our being. Being afraid is a natural response to dangerous situations and helps to keep us safe, but unnatural fear, fear over what does not exist or what is not evident sends our anxiety level through the roof.
Instead of being fearful and allowing our emotions to run wild, let’s take captive our thought life to the obedience of Christ and put our trust and faith in Him alone, and then He will give His peace to live our lives by.
Speaking of the warfare that we find ourselves, the Apostle Paul said, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
And so, to rise above our fears, we need to trust in Jesus, and His plans for our lives, and that is when His peace is shed out upon us when the trials of life become so stressful.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
