Thought for Today: “Preserved for a Purpose”
God has a purpose beyond our present understanding. The Lord preserves us so He can do something great through each of us and through our situation.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,”’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” (Jeremiah 29:11)
Consider Joseph! He was betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, unjustly accused and tossed into prison. If God preserves, then why was Joseph going through this when he wasn’t even at fault.
God was preparing him to save His people. God preserved Joseph for a purpose, and He preserves us for a purpose as well.
David prayed, “Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.” (Psalm 16:1)
