A Scripture and a Prayer: “Our True Family”

“Whoever does God’s will is My brother and sister and mother.” (Mark 3:35)

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the family You have connected us to upon this earth, that is, our fathers and mothers along with siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and other blood relatives. But Jesus made it plain that our real family, the family that is going to last throughout this life and into the next, that is, throughout eternity are those of the faith, that is, those who come to belief in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Therefore, may we take Your admonition and not forsake coming together with them, but doing it even more so, to both give and receive from them the encouragement we need seeing that the day of Your return is soon. AMEN
