Thought For Today: “God’s Growing Grace”
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Peter 3:18)
We are living in a fast-growing society, but one with very little inward growth. We’re a society that’s struggling with addictions and illnesses of all sorts, both physical and emotional. We are also s people who have been hurt and unable to get beyond our past.
But Gods’ desire is that we start to grow and mature in our relationship with Him and in our faith, so these changes that need to take place can take place. And the neat part about this is that He has given His grace to accomplish this. It’s God’s desire for all of us to grow in His grace.
But our growth doesn’t happen over time, but rather it’s by God’s grace.
Earlier in Peter’s second letter he said, “Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.” (2 Peter1:2-3)
