Scripture and a Prayer: “Focus on Jesus”

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for taking our place and dying for our sins upon the cross, and that through Your sacrifice You started us down the path towards eternal life in You, and that You will guide our steps to see us through till the end. Thank you for humbling Yourself through this unconditional act of love through the cross, so that we can come into that loving relationship with You, with heaven as our expected home. But even more, that while we are here upon the earth You have allowed us unlimited access to Your heavenly throne where we can boldly come and receive grace and mercy in our times of need. And so, help us to keep our eyes fixed always upon You. AMEN
