Thought For Today: “God’s Grace Liberates”
Too often we think God’s grace is too good to be true, so we believe we have to help God out. This was the problem with the Galatian church.
“Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?” (Galatians 3:3)
Our flesh says, “Do,” while God’s grace says, “Done.”
It is therefore ludicrous to think that we can complete what the Lord began. This was also Paul’s message to Philippians.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 1:6)
So, let’s trust in God’s grace and no longer in our works. Only then will be set free from the bondage of trying to work our way to heaven.
Remember the words of Ephesians 2:8-9 that says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
