Thought for Today: “Getting Aligned with God”

God tells us how to get spiritually aligned with Him and avoid veering off course.

Those spiritually aligned with God and those with whom God aligns Himself with, have a contrite and humble spirit.

“For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.’” (Isaiah 57:15)

The word “contrite” means to be crushed and thus humbled. Therefore, those who are aligned with God have a heart and spirit that are crushed over its sinful condition.

Holiness also aligns us with God.

“And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way.” (Isaiah 35:8)

To hate sin and desire to live a holy life, a life separated unto God, will put us in alignment with God.
