Today’s 333 Devotional: “Land of No Mores”
Heaven is the place where the human heart longs to be, because it’s the land of no mores.
The Apostle Paul said, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far” (Philippians 1:21-23).
When a believer in Jesus Christ dies, they don’t vanish into nothing, they just go home.
Look at this land.
“They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes” (Revelation 7:16-17).
“Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end” (Isaiah 60:20).
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelation 21:4).
“There shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him” (Revelation 22:3).
A dying man called each member of his family and said, “Goodnight, I’ll see you in the morning.”
He said that to each member except one, his youngest son. To his youngest son he said, “Goodbye,” and said he would never see him again unless he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord.
Heaven, this wonderful land of no mores isn’t available to everyone. The only thing that guarantees heaven as our home is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
