A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Stagnate Spirit”
“I will punish the men who are stagnant in spirit, who say in their hearts, ‘The Lord will not do good or evil!’” (Zephaniah 1:12)
Prayer:
Lord, to have a stagnant spirit means that we have a spirit that is settled and complacent believing that You are in heaven far from the cares and concerns of humanity. Now, I know that this is something that none of us would never do, but in so many ways we do, or as Paul said the things he shouldn’t do were the very things he did. And I also realize that while we are not as overt as to say this, however, the way we live speaks louder than our words as we sit back and watch what goes on around us, never lifting a finger or saying something about it. So, Lord, please forgive our stagnant spirit and help us get moving in Your will and way while there is breath in our lungs. AMEN
