Thought For Today: “An Ever-Evolving Process”

So many of us want to know what God’s purpose for our lives is, and so we search high and low for that one all-encompassing vision, only to end up empty every time. And that’s because we’ve failed to understand that as we grow in our relationship with God, His purpose for our lives evolves.

To find God’s purpose stick close to Jesus and begin to build that relationship, which includes daily time in God’s word and in prayer.

God’s purpose doesn’t begin with a resume; it begins with a relationship, which takes a lifetime to develop.

“For this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” (Exodus 9:16)

But so that we all know, we all have the same overall purpose, known at the Great Commandment and the Great Commission, which is to love the Lord God with the whole of who we are, and to love others as an extension of that love. And then we are to go out and make disciples, teaching them to observe all that Jesus said and commanded.

It is from here that God’s purpose for our lives stems from, and then evolves.
