Thought For Today: “Remaining Faithful”
We live in a society and culture where faithfulness is more of a comedian’s punch line than it is a description of our generation. We live in a society and culture where promises are made but never kept, and where nations and politicians use words that contain escape clauses.
It is in such an environment that people are searching and longing for someone, anyone who will prove themselves faithful. And this is what God expects of His people.
God is not impressed with half-baked Christianity, that is, a church and Christians that are faithful in some areas but not in all.
Faithfulness to Jesus Christ and the gospel message was what helped the church to grow, but today such faithfulness has taken a hit. But if we desire God to do a great work in our day, then faithfulness to God and His word is essential.
“Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, and so find favor and high esteem in the sight of God and man.” (Proverbs 3:3-4)
