Thought for Today: “God is Bigger than Twitter”

It’s amazing the drama that is found in social media when it comes to God. Opinions are tossed back and forth in 140 characters or less. REALLY! How can anyone adequately explain God in as little as one sentence, or even several?

And yet we try. I’ve been in theological discussions; only to fine it next to impossible. Instead, I’d rather not engage, because I have found them unfruitful, and I’d rather spend what little time I have reaching and ministering to those I pastor and who have contacted me for help.

The Lord said in Isaiah 55:9, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9)

God cannot be limited by social media, neither is he limited by space, time, or matter. God is beyond our thoughts, and if we can limit an unlimited God to our limited mental capacity, then He really isn’t the God of the Bible, or a God in whom we should or would want to worship.

“I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God … I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:5)
