A Scripture and a Prayer: “Our Refuge and Deliverer”

“In you, O Lord, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me!” (Psalm 31:1)

Prayer:

Lord, You made Your Son who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf so that we might attain Your righteousness by faith in Him. And so, it is with this truth we take refuge from the destroyer of our souls, the avenger of blood, Satan. Therefore, we flee to You, Lord Jesus, as that refuge for our souls, and that stronghold from my enemy. Redeem us, O Lord, and forgive our sins, and make us clean and into that new creation for Your glory. And so, like King David I pray, “You, O Lord, are my refuge and fortress, my God, in You will I trust.” AMEN
