Thought For Today: “Watch and Be Ready”

Jesus said, “Do not be troubled; for such things must happen, but the end is not yet.” (Mark 13:7)

Jesus was telling us to be prepared, because while false prophets, wars and rumors of wars, and natural disasters will be increasing, these are only the beginning of sorrows, so watch and stay alert.

“Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is… And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!” (Mark 13:33, 37)

Since the Day of Judgment is coming soon, let’s not slumber thinking that things will be the same as they always have been. This newest pandemic should be evidence enough of that, not to mention when a natural disaster strikes, or the fear that strikes at the heart of mankind at the mention of war and violence.

Therefore, let’s prepare ourselves for what lies ahead in and through prayer, and then abiding in God’s word and allowing God’s word to abide within us. And then, let’s go out and tell others to get ready for Jesus’s return, because Jesus tells us that the harvest is plentiful.
