Thought For Today: “An Ending That’s A Beginning”

“God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.” (Acts 2:24)

When Jesus died upon the cross everyone thought that it was the end, but three days later a new beginning occurred.

Hope ended for the disciples at the cross, but hope was renewed and restored when Jesus rose from the dead.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” (1 Peter 1:3)

Jesus earthly body ended upon the cross, but Jesus’ new heavenly body came at the resurrection. Physical death couldn’t hold Jesus and He overcame the grave. Therefore, physical death has no hold over us, as eternal life in heaven waits.

And so, what many thought was an ending became a new beginning for all those who believe.
