A Scripture and a Prayer: “Desiring God’s Word”
“‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord God, ‘that I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.’” (Amos 8:11)
Prayer:
Lord, in this sin-filled and dominated world, may we always strive to keep our hearts softened towards You and Your word. May our soul long for You and for Your word as a deer needs and desires streams of living water to satisfy its longing thirst. Therefore, I humbly ask that you fill us with Your word to satisfy our hungry and thirsty souls. And finally, may Your word truly be a lamp to our feet and a light to light our way through this life until we reach heaven. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
