A Scripture and a Prayer: “Church as Our Desire”
“I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord.” (Psalm 122:1)
Prayer:
Lord, help us to understand that coming together with Your family is a delight and thus a top priority. It should never be a habit, but a purposeful act. Church should be where we come to find the ultimate answer to what we are struggling with, that is, with our grief, hurts, loss and all the rest of the troubles of life. And that answer is Jesus Christ, the author and perfector of our faith. And let us never come to meet with You at church as some bargaining chip saying that if You do this or that, we’ll come every Sunday. Let our coming to church to worship You be our greatest anticipation and expectation, for there is truly nothing better than to be in Your presence. AMEN
