Scripture and a Prayer: “What God Respects”

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart … These, O God, You will not despise.” (Psalm 51:17)

Prayer:

Dear Lord, may we humbly come before You, seeking Your forgiveness for our many sins, and giving You the offering of our hearts, and the offering of our lives. And while we are asking, would You to please accept this offering, even in its broken and damaged condition, because we know that You already have forgiven us at the confession of our need. Therefore, Lord, search us, search our broken and crushed hearts, and show us even more areas that we haven’t given completely over to You. May our lives be that living sacrifice holy and acceptable to You, which you tell us is our reasonable act or worship and service. And this we ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
