A Scripture and a Prayer: “The Right Kind of Sorrow”
“For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.” (2 Corinthians 7:10)
Prayer:
Lord, help us to see our sin from Your perspective, and not from the standards of this world. I ask this so that we can sorrow in a way that is godly, that is Your way, and a way that leads to Your forgiveness, and to our turning away from our sins, which leads to Your salvation. I guess what I am asking Lord is that You break our hearts with what breaks Your heart, so that we can turn away from those things that hurt and displease You, and then turn back to fully loving and following You. And this I ask in Jesus’s mighty and precious name. AMEN
