Today’s 333 Devotional: “Say Thank You”
David said, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” (Psalm 107: 1-2a)
Why are we to say “Thank you” to God?
It’s because He delights in our appreciation.
David goes on to say, “Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare His works with rejoicing.” (Psalm 107:19-22)
God appreciates our thanksgiving. It lifts and glorifies His name amongst men and nations, and it also endears Him to us. In other words, it draws us closer.
But if we’re not thankful, if we don’t express our thanksgiving, then it has the opposite effect.
The Apostle Paul says, “Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.” (Romans 1:21)
The Bible says it’s a good thing to give thanks to God, Psalm 92:1a, and that we’re to give God thanks in everything, because this is God’s will for us in Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
How can we express our gratitude and thanks? Here are a few ways…
So, I think it’s time to say, “Thank You,” to the Lord.
