Today’s 333 Devotional: “God Will Finish What He Started”
If you are like me, you’ve probably started something, and it is still sitting waiting to be finished.
But that isn’t the case with God. What He has started in us He will finish.
It doesn’t mean that we are a finished product; that will only come when we stand in God’s presence in heaven. Right now we are a work in process, which God will complete.
This was something the Apostle Paul was extremely confident about.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)
I believe God loves us just the way we are, but He also loves us so much that He won’t leave us this way. The Bible says we are God’s masterpiece and He’s working on us even now.
“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)
And that masterpiece is the spitting image of His Son, Jesus Christ.
“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” (Romans 8:29a)
God is working in each one of us. He is living in us, changing, and molding us into that perfect picture of Jesus Christ. So, we can say, “I’m a divine work in process.”
The Lord will finish what He started, which is the description given by the writer of Hebrews.
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2)
Whatever we are going through, know the Lord Jesus is working in us and won’t let us go until He completes His perfect work.
God will finish what He started in us, and remember it’s His work, not our own.
