A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Needed Rest”

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God.” (Hebrews 4:9)

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, with all that is going on around us, from illnesses and violence, and everything in-between, we are getting a little more frayed around the edges along with becoming physically, emotionally, and spiritually weary. Yet, we know that You are the one who gives us the rest we need to strengthen and help us to overcome. Jesus, You even said that in this world we will have trials and tribulations, but that You will give us the peace and joy we need, that is, Your peace, because You overcame this world. Therefore Lord, help us rest in You this day so that we can lie down in Your green pastures, and besides Your still waters so our souls can be refreshed. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
