A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Good Examination”
“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? – unless indeed you are disqualified.” (2 Corinthians 13:5)
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, please examine us, because in truth we can not examine ourselves because we’re not qualified due to our sins and prejudices. Only You know our heart and all that lies within. So, we humbly request that You examine us to see if there is anything that we are doing that is counter to Your will and way for our lives. May our prayer be that of David’s as he prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23-24)
And then, Lord, may we grow in Your grace so that our lives can shine forth the light of Your love and grace to all those we connect with today. Thank you for hearing our prayer and showering us with Your grace and mercy. And this we ask in Jesus’s precious name. AMEN
