Scripture and a Prayer: “Consider Others Over Self”
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” (Philippians 2:3-4)
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I ask in Jesus’s name that you purify my heart from all that is displeasing to you. That you search me and see if there is any selfish ambition and conceit lying deep within. Please take away anything that is of self and “what’s in it for me,” attitude as I deal with those around me. Give me the same heart as John the Baptist who said, “He (Jesus) must increase, and I must decrease.” Therefore, I ask that you help me to walk in all humility making the needs of others more important than my own, and to walk in the Great Commandment loving You above all else through loving others as You have loved me. Thank you for giving me this great opportunity to make a difference for You this day. AMEN
