Thought for Today: “Entrust Yourself to God’s Care”
“For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” (2 Timothy 1:12)
The Apostle Paul was telling his protégé, Timothy, something that would help not only Timothy but us as well, saying that trusting God is better than anything this world could give. In other words, trusting God is better than whatever we think we need, like money and possessions.
Whatever we entrust to God’s care He will take care of it. Whatever has us worried we need to give to God, and He will give back His peace.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
It is when we’re in pain and filled with anxiety that is when we need God the most, and it is in these times that we can trust God and not be afraid, for He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7)
