A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Soul Wait”
Truly my soul silently waits for God; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.” (Psalm 62:1-2)
Prayer:
Lord, it is the area of my soul that I have the greatest difficulty waiting, because the soul is the place of my emotions and desires. While in my mind and in my spirit, I know I need to wait for You, knowing that You have it all under control and that You have a plan for me, as You have said how Your thoughts are always towards me to bring me a future and a hope. But my emotions and desires always seem to get in the way. I tend to allow the circumstances and situations that I face throughout the day to dictate my actions, rather than allowing You to work Your plans and purposes within me for what I am going through. Therefore, I ask, please help my soul, my emotions and desires to wait for You, and do not allow my feelings to get in the way of the Holy Spirit’s work. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
