A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Journey of Faith”
“Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” (Luke 2:15)
Prayer:
Lord, once again my mind goes to the shepherds on that first Christmas morning, who upon hearing the good news that brings great joy, that in the city of David, there was born a Savior who would be no one less than Christ, the Messiah, who is the Lord. And it says that they immediately left their flocks and went to see. They believed without seeing, and that is the absolute definition of faith, which is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Lord, may I be like one of those shepherds and move forward by Your word and promises without seeing or waiting for a sign. This, O Lord, is what pleases You, knowing as well that You are a rewarder of those who diligently seek You in and by such faith. Therefore, help us to take that step of faith and follow You. AMEN
