Scripture and a Prayer: “Heavenly Thoughts”

“Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.” (Colossians 3:2)

Prayer:

Lord, as we ready ourselves for Christmas, help us keep our focus where it belongs, and that is on You and the gift You gave of Your son, and the forgiveness of our sins that He provides, not to mention our forever home in Heaven with You. Help us also get our minds off what the world presents Christmas as, and with the shepherds and Wise Men, let us bow down and bring to Jesus the gifts of praise and worship. And let us be mindful to offer up to You the whole of ourselves as those living sacrifices, holy and acceptable to You, which You say is our “reasonable service.” Thank you, therefore, for this wonderful time to always remember what You have done for us. AMEN
