Thought For Today: “A Hope For The Ages”
“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations.” (Romans 4:18a)
Abraham and Sarah didn’t have much to hope upon when it came to having kids, but God promised. Therefore, Abraham had faith and believed.
Knowing this about Abraham, the Apostle Paul said, “Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed.” (Romans 4:16a)
And then he gave us the hope for the ages.
“God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” (Romans 4:17)
To Thomas, Jesus gave a promise of blessing to everyone who would believe in His resurrection, even though they may not have been there to personally witness it.
He said, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:29)
This is truly the hope for all time, will be believe. If we do then by grace, we have received its guarantee, an eternity in heaven.
