A Scripture and a Prayer: “Walk in the Spirit”

“Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16)

Prayer:

Jesus, when we came to faith in You, You gave to us Your Spirit, breathing upon us saying, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” While I am weak, and my fleshly nature of sin seems to be so prevalent, You have given me a way to counter my flesh and the lusts of this world through this wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I pray and ask for You to help give me the power to walk in Your will and ways through the power of the Holy Spirit within me, so that I can walk, no longer according to my flesh, but rather in the newness of the life You provide. And this I ask in Your name Lord Jesus. AMEN
