A Scripture and a Prayer: “If God Be For Us”
“The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? … It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:6, 8)
Prayer:
Lord, You say and therefore promise in Your word that if You are for us, then who can be against us, and that You are our stronghold and Your name is a strong tower that we can run to and find safety. But even further, You will never leave or forsake us, especially in our time of need. Therefore, Lord, why should I fear what someone might do, because what can anyone do to me if You are for me. So, today I will choose to put my trust in You and no longer anything the world might say or promise. And in the end, may I fear You, and not man, that is, may I honor and revere Your holiness and righteousness, and stop putting my confidence in anything or anyone else. Give me the strength, therefore, to follow You. And this I ask in Jesus’s name. AMEN
