Thought for Today: “God’s Righteousness Revealed”
God’s righteousness is revealed in the Gospel, which is why the Apostle Paul said he’s not ashamed to share it.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” (Romans 1:16-17)
The righteousness of God for our salvation is available through faith in Jesus Christ. Anyone who then wants to stand before God justified must do so by faith and not by the keeping of rules, regulations, or good deeds.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Therefore, let’s get back to God’s gym, His word, and start training ourselves seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
