Thought for Today: “Regaining Lost Hope”
While we usually think of the basics when it comes to the necessities of life, like air, food, and water, which is especially true given the present crisis we are and have been put in. But what we need to add to that mix is hope. Because without hope our spirits become sick and die.
Solomon tells us that hope deferred makes the heart sick (Proverbs 13:12), and unless we get the help we need through hope, our hearts die within us.
How do we get the hope we need to survive? We get it from the Lord through the working of the Holy Spirit within us.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13)
To regain that lost hope, we need to turn to the Lord ask the Holy Spirit to renew and revive our hearts and spirits and thus give to us a brand-new beginning.
