A Scripture and a Prayer: “Jesus Heals Not Hurts”
“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights…A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench.” (Isaiah 42:1-3)
Prayer:
Lord, You sent Your Son, Jesus, Your anointed into this world, not to hurt us but to heal us. You gave us this promise through Your prophet Isaiah saying, “He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” And the Apostle Peter showed how this was talking about Jesus saying that He “bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness–by whose stripes you were healed.” And Jesus Himself reveal the extent and magnitude of this healing saying, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” Jesus , You are our healer, and You heal the hurts of Your people. Therefore, we say, “Thank You Jesus, for healing our body, soul, and spirit.” AMEN
