Thought For Today: “The Purpose of Hurt”
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
While God is not the author of a lot of things that happen to us, He will use them to serve His greater purpose. Nothing happens without there being a purpose, and as I have learned, God never wastes a hurt.
The Apostle Paul said, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
We all have had painful experiences in this life, and God uses these experiences so we can minister back the same grace that God ministered to us. Who can better minister to someone going through marital difficulties, than someone else who has gone through it? Who can better minister to someone who has addiction difficulties than someone who has found freedom from these addictions.
And so, God never wastes a hurt and will work it towards the good of His kingdom as we minister His
