Thought For Today: “The Spirit’s Abiding Presence”

We are not facing this life alone, because Jesus promised that He would not abandon us, but would send the Holy Spirit to live and abide within us continually.

“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.” (John 14:16)

When we need help The Holy Spirit is never far away, and that’s because He’s right here with us.

The Greek word Jesus used, for the Holy Spirit is “Paraclete.” It means someone who comes alongside, and advocate who pleads our case.

We see this as the Holy Spirit prays for us and helps us in our weaknesses.

“Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8:26)

So, when we’re facing a difficulty in this life, let’s call out to the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us through it, because He is always present as Jesus promised.
