A Scripture and a Prayer: “God Will Sustain”
“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” (Isaiah 46:4)
Prayer: A Prayer of Gratefulness
Lord, as I get older, and not so much wiser, I greatly appreciate this promise You give, that in Your faithfulness, not my own, You will sustain me, You will carry me through, even when I am ready to give up. Thank you for this and the promise that I see that goes along with it in how You will never leave me nor forsake me when things get tough, and I have no strength. And then, how You will deliver me, how You will renew my strength, allowing me to either soar on the wings like an eagle, or run and not grow weary, or for that matter just to be able to walk and not faint. What a wonderful and faithful God You are, to one that is less faithful as I can be. And while I say, “Thank You Lord,” it doesn’t seem to be enough for all that You do. AMEN
