Thought For Today: “The Way of the Spirit”
While the fiery coals of the Holy Spirit still glow in our lives, let’s set them ablaze through prayer, and begin to follow the ways God set forth in His word, rather than follow the ways promoted by those who follow methods over Holy Spirit guidance.
Instead of these new paths and ways, let’s return to the paths taken by our forefathers of the faith, Wesley, Whitefield, Edwards, and others.
“Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; then you will find rest for your souls.’” (Jeremiah 6:16)
Instead of boasting in the number of people sitting in the pews, let’s boast in the power of the Holy Spirit that is at work within our midst as lives our forever changed by the power that works within.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Ephesians 3:20).
And let’s always remember that it is never by our might, or our power, but rather it is in and through the power of the Holy Spirit whose temple resides within every believer in Jesus Christ.
