“Enough is Enough”

When will we stop all this bickering and in fighting and start being those believers in Jesus the Bible tells us we need to be? I don’t know about you, but I’ve had enough. And the reason these quarrels exist in the first place is because of selfishness, because we’re not getting our way.

Maybe this will help, it has nothing to do about our way or my way; rather it’s all about God’s way. And God says to cut out all the division that exists between us.

The Apostle Paul also had enough.

He said, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, … that there are contentions among you” (1 Corinthians 1:10-11)

Paul was saying, “Those of you who call yourselves Christians. Knock it off. We’re supposed to be one, not two, three, or four.”

This was at the heart of Jesus’s prayer for the church. His prayer was that we would be unified.

“That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me … that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.” (John 17:21-23)

When there is contention between us, it’s a sign of wanting what we want, not what God wants.

“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members”

So enough is enough, let’s start to forgive and show the world what the good news is all about.
