Thought For Today: “Revival Prayer”
Wesleyan Methodist minister, Samuel Chadwick said, “Brethren, the crying sin of the Church is her laziness after God.”
Such laziness on the part of Christians and the church is seen in the church’s prayer life. While the church may do a lot of good things, the one thing it does the least is pray. But a church that prays is not a lazy church, rather it is a church that is on fire and one that is fighting the good fight.
People and churches that prays are not lazy, but are warriors for God, because prayer is the battleground in our fight against Satan.
Prayer calls for us to pick up the armor of God and fight the good fight of faith.
“Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day … praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.” (Ephesians 6:10, 18)
There is an old hymn whose chorus says, “Lord send a revival… And let it begin in me.”
Today and from this time forward, let this be our prayer.
