Thought For Today: “Let’s Stop the Comparisons”
One of the leading causes of self-doubt is our need to constantly be comparing ourselves to other people and ministries.
Instead, we should be looking to God and what He has called for us to do, and what He has called for us to be. And that’s because we’re all a part of the same body, but each with different gifts and talents so that we can function together as a whole and not as separate entities.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts forms one body, so it is with Christ…you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27)
So instead of looking at everybody else saying they have more talent, better abilities, more talent, education, and experience, look to God.
The Bible says that comparing ourselves to others is a foolish thing to do.
“But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant!” (2 Corinthians 10:12b)
