God’s Personal Touch

Thought For Today: “God’s Personal Touch”

“For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)

One of Jesus’s names is Immanuel, which means God is with us. Now, God could have sent an angel to deliver His people, but God choose to personally involve Himself in our redemption.

Quoting from the prophet Isaiah, the Apostle Matthew says, “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name ‘Immanuel,’ which is translated, ‘God with us.’” (Matthew 1:23; cf. Isaiah 7:14)

In the Old Testament, God spoke to the people of Israel through prophets like Moses, Isaiah and Jeremiah. But when Christ was born, God communicated and still communicates His message directly through His Son Jesus Christ.

The writer of Hebrews says, “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son.” (Hebrews 1:1-2a)

Therefore, God took a personal interest in us by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to be His personal touch of healing and salvation.
