Today’s 333 Devotional: “You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made”
Makeovers are big business today. Don’t like the way you look, get a makeover. Change your wardrobe, the color of your eyes, your hair style or color, add volume to your lips, or take some inches off your waist.
But God made you just as you are. There are no accidents. God created you and knit you together in your mother’s womb. This may be startling, but your parents had very little to do with it. God made you, and because He did, He wants to spend the rest of eternity with you.
The Bible says God’s hands shaped you, molded you like clay, gave you life, and shows you loving-kindness by watching over your spirit (Job 10:8-12).
From the very beginning you have been intricately woven by God and you are His unique masterpiece (Ephesians 3:10), and therefore you are fearfully wonderful in the God’s eyes.
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalms 139:13-14)
God made you perfect just as you are. People spend enormous amounts of money trying to change what God created them to be. We spend billions on creams and makeup, and when that doesn’t work, we spend billions more on cosmetic surgery. But God made you into something special, fearfully wonderful, and He set you apart just as you are for His glory.
God has wonderfully made you in His own image and His own likeness (Genesis 1:26).
You are pleasing in the eyes of God, and He wants to spend an eternity with you. And here’s the really neat part, you won’t have to spend a dime in the process, Christ paid it all on the cross.
The Apostle Paul said, “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:20)
