Thought For Today: “Church Attendance is a Blessing”
With the advent of the COVID pandemic, a shift took place in our gathering together as a family of believers. Now, we gather independently around a computer screen to watch our church’s service, and then maybe one or two others.
But, when looking at God’s word, this was never the way God had set up His church to operate. We, as His church, are told to gather together and minister to each other’s needs.
King David said, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go into the house of the Lord.’” (Psalm 122:1)
Church attendance is a blessing, therefore, are we excited to come together? Is there that spirit of expectation and anticipation?
King David also said, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” (Psalm 133:1)
Were there problems back then, and in the early church? Yes, but to be in God’s house, to worship Him, to partake of His word, and to fellowship with others, there is nothing better.
Make church attendance a priority and get excited about what God wants to do in and through you.
I recently saw this, and it is the picture that I have used. “Church should be your excuse for missing everything else.
