Thought For Today: “Prophetic Vision”
Without a vision, or a divine revelation given by God, life has no meaning or purpose. Because of this, God’s people will do whatever they want, whenever they want.
The book of Judges talks about this saying, “In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes.” (Judges 17:6)
Solomon, who was the wisest man to have lived, and one who wrote the book of Proverbs under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit said, “When there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint.” (Proverbs 29:18)
Now, whenever getting a prophetic vision is discussed we think of God speaking to us through prayer, which can be the case, when God speaks directly to whatever we are going through.
But, for the most part, God’s prophetic visions come through spending time with God in His word, the Bible.
And so, if we need a word from God, let’s start getting into God’s word and ask the Holy Spirit to speak to us through it, so that we can have the wisdom of God in what we’re facing in this life.
