Thought for Today: “What is Easter Really About?”
First, Easter isn’t about a bunny the lays eggs. Last time I looked, that is impossible and goes against the laws of nature that God set forth.
Rather, Easter is all about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It’s about celebrating Jesus rising from the dead.
Therefore, Easter is all about God’s power on full display.
Easter is all about the God of creation coming down and becoming one of us, becoming part of His creation, and then dying upon the cross, and rising from the dead to guarantee our resurrection through His resurrection.
Easter is all about God coming and sacrificing Himself for our sins, and then coming out of the grave and saying, “I’m alive and you can be alive too.”
Easter is our greatest victory because Jesus died, was buried, and then rose on the third day so we can have eternal life.
And so, Easter is a time to celebrate that our God is a powerful God, but it’s more than that. Easter is about the all-powerful God at work for us and in us.
