A Stagnate Spirit

A Scripture and a Prayer: “A Stagnate Spirit”

“I will punish the men who are stagnant in spirit, who say in their hearts, ‘The Lord will not do good or evil!’” (Zephaniah 1:12)

Lord, to have a stagnant spirit is to have a spirit that is settled and complacent that believes that You are in heaven far from the cares and concerns of humanity. Now, I know that this is something that I would never do, but in so many ways I do, or as Paul said the things I shouldn’t do are the very things that I do. I realize that while I am not as overt as to say this, the way I live speaks louder than my words as I sit back and watch what goes on around me, never lifting a finger or saying something about it. So, Lord, I ask You to please forgive my stagnant spirit and help me to get moving in Your will and way while there is breath in my lungs. AMEN
